South Point School Kolkata

South Point School, Kolkata, is a coeducational English medium day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, and the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. Established on April 1, 1954, by Shri Satikanta Guha and Smt. Prityalata Guha, the school began with just 20 students and a handful of dedicated teachers. Notably, it was the first co-educational school in the city affiliated with the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. Over time, it evolved to offer schooling up to the higher secondary level.

The school holds a place in the Guinness Book of Records (1984-1992) as the world?s largest school, with approximately 13,500 students, 325 teaching staff, and 225 non-teaching staff members. Managed by the South Point Education Society, a part of the M P Birla Group, the school’s motto, “Courage to Know,” pays homage to those who persevered in seeking truth despite adversities.
